Dispatch Centre Operator

The City of Kelowna is hiring full-time Dispatch Centre Operators at Fire Station #1. Operators receive, direct and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for 58 regional fire departments handling more than 40,000 incidents a year, gathering critical information under pressure and keeping communication open with first responders. The role requires strong multitasking skills, a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM and the ability to work alternating 10-hour day shifts and 14-hour overnight shifts (averaging 42 hours a week).
